About MITEA
MITEA stands for MIT Entrepreneurs Association, a non-profit association formed by the Alumni from Madras Institute of Technology (MIT), Chromepet, Chennai, who are successful Entrepreneurs.
MITEA was founded and formerly launched by 
Dr. K. Elamvazhuthi (MIT T No. 01602 – First Batch Rubber & 40th Batch MITian) on February 16, 2019 through a formal inaugural meeting held at Anna University Alumni Club building located at Adyar Boat Club, Chennai. Subsequently, MITEA is officially registered as a non-profit society under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act 1975 (Tamil Nadu Act 27 of 1975) in Oct 2020. Currently MITEA has a proud group of 150+ listed members who are successful Entrepreneurs running business operations spread across the globe with their companies based in India, Singapore, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi and other UAE countries, USA, UK and other countries across the globe.
MITEA is governed by a Governing Team comprising Dr. M. Ramesh Prabha, MIT Alumni (T No. 5510, 05th Batch Production Technology / 33rd Batch MITian) as the President, Mr. P. Abdul Kathar, Vice President, Dr. K. Elamvazhuthi, Founder and Secretary, Mr. K. Saravanan, Joint Secretary, Mr. V. Venkatesan, Treasurer. The Governing Team is supported by an Executive Committee of eight (8) other members. Please check the Executive Committee page for more details. The Governing and Executive Committee team was first formed in June 2019 with Late Dr. V. Nagendran (MIT T No. 1484, 14th Batch MITian) as the first President from June 2019 till Jan 2021.

About MIT
MIT Chromepet is an Engineering college campus started in 1949 and is one of the four main constituent institutes of Anna University (when formed in 1978). The other constituent institutes are College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG), Alagappa College of Technology (AC Tech), Guindy and School of Architecture and Planning (SAP), Guindy, Chennai. In 1949, MIT was initially started as a self-financing engineering institute by the founder Mr. Chinnaswami Rajam offering D.MIT (Diploma in MIT) engineering degree in four special areas namely Aeronautical, Automobile, Electronics and Instrumentation. MIT is the only institute that offered a post graduate Engineering / Technoloogy degree (B.Tech) that can be pursued after finishing three years of B.Sc. degree. Former President of India Dr. A P J Abdul Khalam is a proud MIT Alumni who completed his B.Tech from the Aeronautical Engineering faculty. Current ISRO Chief Dr. K Sivan is also a proud MIT Alumni from the Aeronautical Engineering faculty.
